Catalog System Features

A user can enter an Asset Number, VIN, or Utilimaster Body Serial Number to pull up the vehicle-specific catalog. It features exploded views, parts lists, and a shopping cart. Data concerning selected parts will be transmitted to AeroXchange. This catalog system provides the following features and benefits:

Generic Browser Capable

The system is usable with any browser version or brand. No special software is required to access the site: no cookies used, no software downloads, no applets. Nothing but a basic browser is required, reducing technical support issues for the user community.

Works with ANY web browser, no special programs, downloads, or browser "plug-ins" are needed. Any version of browser, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape, Mozilla, Firefox, or Opera running on any operating system, Mac OS, Windows 3.1/95/98/Me/2000/XP/XPpro, and even Linux, works great.

Any screen size and resolution is OK, though images are optimized for 800 x 600 or higher resolution.

This site does not write "cookies" on the user's PC to track their ordering.

Power Search

When searching for the parts for a specific vehicle, the user can key in the VIN number, the Utilimaster Body Serial Number, or the Asset number. This results in looking up that specific vehicle and presenting the categories of parts used in that specific vehicle.

Sound-Alike Searches

Correct spelling in searches is not required. Using sound-alike searching, a user looking for a “BRACKET” can key in “BRKT” or “BREAKIT,” and they will see all of the parts with the word “BRACKET” in the description.

Favorite Vehicle Lists

For quick reference, a user can add to a list of “Favorite” vehicles. This speeds up use of the catalog by helping to automate selection/entry of specific vehicles located at a facility. Additionally, the most recent ten vehicles are maintained in a list for easy selection.

Favorite Parts Lists

Users can store their favorite lists of parts as named items in the favorites function. This allows a user to establish a kit of parts, and add that kit to their shopping cart at any time. This could be used, for example, for repeated orders for upgrades across many vehicles.

User-Oriented Design Standards

The shopping cart application is patterned after the most successful e-commerce web sites in common use. The design standards dictated by the Nielsen-Norman Group (www.useit.com) were followed in the creation of this user-friendly web application.

Large Detailed Diagrams

The standard-size exploded assembly diagrams are noted with item numbers and matching parts list. One click on the standard diagram displays a full-screen enlarged diagram for enhanced detail.

High Security

Using the latest in Secure Sockets Layer encryption and authentication, the system is able to secure sensitive information when required. This is the same standard as used by the banking industry for on-line banking.

Fast

Latest technology links this site directly to the midrange systems that drive Utilimaster's business. All stock availability and orders are processed in real-time.
